It was great to hear from Francisco again the other day with regards to some arrangements Sawyer & Co + Harmon's Barton's were wanting to showcase for the fall season, and they wanted to hire me for the photos! We got the shoot arranged for today, and the weather was like summah, my gear was all ready to go and I was proud of the fact that I could take my time getting out the door.
So here are the rest of the images I was able to get while I was shooting Dana & Patrick's cinematic wedding film. The dress, the shoes, the mementos, the flowers - everything was perfect. And don't even get me started on the food at Purpoodock Golf Club!
I just got back from Dana & Patrick's fabulous and crazy fun wedding!! I was hired for their video, but I was able to snap a few stills in between filming. This one of Dana's locket on her bouquet touched my heart the most of them all.
So here's a BTS short film of Lauren Springer, owner of Fiddleheads Flowers & Vintage Chic Gifts in Cape Elizabeth, crafting the stunning wedding bouquet I photographed a few weeks ago with the Hasselblad.
I am so thrilled to have shot a Maine beach wedding this season! This was a very intimate and private wedding, and it was so awesome to have the backdrop of Higgins Beach for it. I kind of feel like this was almost a tropical wedding with the clear skies and color of the water that day - it was unreal.
So Francisco had contacted me to let me know that the remodel at Sawyer & Co was finished, completed with their wedding consultation and design area. I decided to stop by, and was asked to come take photos for their new Flower Happy Hour, a time for wine, goodies and learning flower design! What an awesome idea!
So last night after the wonderful bridal showcase at The Barn at Hardy Farm had come to a close, I held a raffle for a $350 Gift Certificate for services with Diane York Weddings, as well as for a box of positively sinful Dean's Sweets!! Did you win? Did you win? Watch the videos to find out! :p
Guess what I did today? I had a display in my first ever bridal showcase at none other than the glorious Barn at Hardy Farm! The weather was pretty lousy, but the great thing about this venue is that it's got an "in case of rain" spot already built in, and the turnout was great!!
I was so excited to head on down to the Inn By The Sea today and grab some images of the incredible ice cream wedding cake Patty, owner of Cake Elizabeth , had carefully crafted for the wedding there today. First of all, folks, this is an ICE CREAM WEDDING CAKE....I had no idea you could do an ice cream cake for a wedding, cake and OMG it looked AMAZING.
So my mentor got after me about my blog last night. He said it was boring and there wasn't a story. He's like that teacher who was always on your case, but ended up being right. Little did I know that teacher whose expectations annoyed me to no end have helped prepare me for life in ways I never thought possible!
Here is a sneak peak image of the absolutely GORGEOUS star of my next film project with Fiddleheads Flowers & Vintage Chic Gifts in Cape Elizabeth, Maine! If this isn't Pinterest worthy, I seriously don't know what is, folks. Just incredible.
You wouldn't believe the number of people who I have talked to who just DON'T remember their wedding day......like, at ALL. I knew having been married myself, and by talking with others and the first weddings that I completed that was the case, but really - there is SO much going on, the brides who didn't get a video done have regretted it, and the ones who did get one were SO. GLAD. THEY. DID.
Here's a story from this awesome photoshoot with Dana & Patrick:
After we were stared at by the crowds of tourists at the Locks of Love, we decided to venture down an alleyway none of us had ever been to before. It was a cool alley, and we got some amazing shots (the awesome reflection one included!),
So when I "met" Bryan and Kelly, we were talking via Skype and I knew we would get along great. I at first felt terrible because my sweet cat Lucy had somehow forced herself into the room and decided to be extra lovey with me during our meeting - to the point she demanded to be held through a portion. But, boy was I fortunate because Kelly and Bryan happen to have an adorable fur baby of their own, Michael, and he got to join in the meeting as well!
Man, oh man - I JUST finished the edits on my FIRST EVER Maine wedding video! I put the time in the "classroom", did my homework, practiced, and had the priceless help of my business partner, yet I was taken aback at how different producing a wedding video is compared to still photography. It is a completely different animal....and I love it.
This moment was planned to a "T". The groom-to-be, Colby, had been planning this moment for I don't know how long, but a long time because we have been planning this shoot together for quite some time. But bottom line, we had a plan.
I had such a blast on Friday on my super-secret proposal photography mission, and we all made it out unscathed - phew! :) These folks are one seriously adorable couple. I absolutely love getting to meet such cool people like Colby and Megan, and at one of the best moments in their life - it's such an honor for me!
If you know me on a personal level, you know that I am a super loyal person and am great at keeping secrets. I think sharing secrets is just gross, and always have had that opinion. But it's so hard to with "wiggling fish", as Jim Henson's Story Teller called them, that just want to come out, so I have to share SOMETHING!
Here I sit, mid-season, almost completely neglecting my blog like so many, many others. So to curb your image cravings, here are some details I shot of a recent wedding (the bride and groom asked not to show images of them for privacy purposes) and a visit to Sawyer & Co
Dana and Patrick are the best. Hands down. We had an absolute blast in Old Port on Saturday running around, going down unfamiliar alley ways and getting the "fly by" tour of our awesome city. The sun was shining, there was a pleasant breeze, and Maine was on her best behavior for us.
