So I wanted to get a quick sneak peek up of the most lovely bride, Christy, during her preparations at The Portland Regency Hotel in downtown Portland, Maine. I had a blast second shooting for this wedding, and it was the PERFECT warm up to my own season. The sun was shining, the sky was blue with a few puffy clouds, and there was a gentle breeze everywhere we went that day.
I had such a blast this week on a styled shoot at Two Coves Farm in Harpswell, Maine! If you follow me on Snap Chat, you will see on my way to the venue, I did take a wrong turn down an extremely narrow dirt road that, although beautifully lined with thick forest on either side, left me feeling a little like a potential victim in a scary movie.
I am a total pushover and a softie when it comes to animals. I have always loved them for as long as I can remember - cats, dogs, lizards (snakes are outside of my awwww factor, but I still don't like to hear if they get hurt). So it completely tugged at my little heart strings when I came across a post on FaceBook by Inn By The Sea showing their latest foster dog.
It was so awesome to finally meet Jennifer & Conor, and their fur babies, Mooch & Oreo (they live in New York and drove out just for our shoot!). These are some good folks, and the love that they have for each other and their fuzzy family just radiates off of them. I was so excited to shoot their engagement photos, and at Granite Ridge Estate and Barn in Norway, Maine, no less!
So I wanted to make a fun short film to showcase my new branding in a different way, and to show my cool new sealing stuff since not everyone has had a chance to see it for themselves! Another reason I made this is to speak to the amount of work that goes into even a little film like this - everything from writing the story, multiple takes of multiple angles, lighting, music....and lots and lots of sealing wax! LOL

I seriously cannot even believe that Valentine's Day is upon us already. It only occurred to me what time of year it actually is when I got a call from the gang at Harmon's & Barton's to do their Valentine's Day arrangement photography.
I've never been to a New Year's Eve wedding before until Dan & Vanessa's, and I was so excited to film theirs. Let me tell you, it was special all around. Everything from the beautiful ceremony at The First Parish Church in Portland, Maine, the dazzling reception at The Landing at Pine Point, the jaw-dropping dress and veil, the flowers - everything about that day was like it was plucked straight out of a romantic movie.

Man, I was working, but I couldn't help but get down a little bit on the dance floor with everyone else!

OH my goodness, I had such a BLAST today!! So many "finallies" for me on this trip - I finally got to meet Jennifer & Conor in person, and their adorable fur babies, Mooch and Oreo (they are from New York and drove in just for our session today - YAY!). I finally got to visit Granite Ridge Estate in Norway, Maine (I've been dying to shoot here since I first heard about it - btw, Micki, the owner, is fabulous!).
So if you haven't noticed, I'm making some big changes around here - hello, re-brand! My top-level albums are not exempt from this exciting change: We're talking Italian leather. Metallic stamping. Thick pages. Oh yeah, these books are heavy, solid, easy on the eyes, soft to the touch, and down right beautiful.
Yesterday we piled in the car and embarked on a cold weather adventure to an adorable, local Christmas tree farm in South Portland, Maine. The air was crisp and cold, but the sun was warm and bright, and my son couldn't contain his laughter and excitement as we boarded a tractor hayride to travel around the farm.
I'll admit it. I'm one of those people who actually get EXCITED to see Christmas decorations on the shelves in mid-October. I listen to Christmas music year-round. I actually start celebrating Christmas internally on July 4th. You probably want to punch me in the face.
I don't always find myself on the other side of a camera, but when I do, I am usually being goofy, even if it's not in a photo booth.
Maybe I've been hanging out with my 2 year old son a little too much, but have you ever seen something so shiny and colorful that you wish you would just take a bite out of it? Well, I definitely thought that when I first saw the chocolates Christopher Hastings Confections had to share during the Meetinghouse Meetup at The First Parish in downtown Portland, Maine last night.
Katherine and Zach were able to take advantage of so many of the wonderful spots Portland has to offer for their wedding day! With the ceremony at Mayo Street Arts, wedding party photos at the Eastern Promenade, and the reception at the Clarion Hotel, they got a wide range of scenery for their backdrops.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Dana & Patrick are just the best! When we pulled up to Dana's super cute house, it definitely set the tone for the whole day. The sun was out, but not too bright, there was a light breeze, and the birds were singing their hearts out.
My assistant and I had a blast yesterday running around to the different parts of this wonderful wedding that took place in a few areas of Portland, Maine. We started at the SUPER cool Mayo Street Arts for the ceremony (if you haven't been, you should definitely check it out - think artsy playhouse). We then we headed over to the Eastern Promenade for some water scenery photos, and the wind started blowing...and the bridesmaids didn't have any jackets! Brrrr! So, what does one do to warm up in those circumstances? HUDDLE! I learned that trick from my cold days in high school marching band during football games. After getting a little cozier, the good sports braved forth for some fun photos, and then made a mad dash back to the limo. I've never seen a group that size move so quickly and efficiently! LOL Then it was Katherine and Zach's turn - I would say they were EXTRA good sports as we worked together to get them some awesome portraits for a while longer. This is one of the stunning photos we were able to get during that time together. The wind may have been blowing and chilly, but it didn't put a damper on any of the celebrations - but I think that the love this couple has for each other and their family warmed everything up!

Soooo many stories with this one!! I was super excited as I got a call to help out a wedding photographer from Virginia who needed help because his bride decided last minute that she wanted preparation and detail pictures for the groom and his crew.
